„As Long as We Dance” – premiere in Studio Hrdinů in Prague (new date!)
As Long as We Dance is the first in the series of dance performances to be premiered at Prague-based theater Studio Hrdinů each of the several following seasons. As Long as We Dance was created by the world-renowned Polish conceptual choreographer Renata Piotrowska-Auffret in cooperation with a team of Czech theatre professionals.

The performace’s point of departure is the current pandemic situation we find ourselves in, which gave death more than just one fatal meaning. The pandemia has thrown social death upon us, changed our habits and usurped all our attention. The performance As Long as We Dance is a revolt – a revolt of those, who are or were in the most complicated of situations – that is, women and mothers. But most of all, it is a celebration of dance itself.
“I invited Renata to start the series of dance performances, because I’ve been observing her work for some time now and am very excited by her ability to create precise and elaborated choreographies, uncompromising criticalness and extraordinary sense of humour,” Jan Horák, the dramaturge of the performance and artistic director of Studio Hrdinů, explains. Renata contemplates the contemporary world by deriving inspiration from intimate experiences, both real and fictional, embedded in a given social context. She is interested in the perversity of relations between the historical and contemporary body politics, between the public and the private, as well as between text and movement.
