„The pure gold…” in KVS in Brussels in April ’22

For many women, wanting children is natural. But what if that wish is subject to all sorts of legal clauses?

This exciting piece, that puts three powerful women on stage, homes in on the relation between personal and professional life. Polish choreographer and dancer Renata Piotrowska-Auffret draws on her personal experiences and the stories of other women to investigate this longing for motherhood within a tangle of reproductive policies, countless promises and attempts to take advantage of the desire for children.

The performance will be presented on 30th of April in KVS, Brussels, Belgium

„Dare to care” – podcasts in the frame of Grand re Union project

Renata Piotrowska-Auffret in conversation with Bojana Kunst, Zornitsa Stoyanova, Sarah Vanhee, Katarzyna Słoboda

Dare to care are podcasts featuring guests from the field of dance, choreography, and art. In our dialogues we are focusing on the notion of care in the context of being freelance artists and parents. We aim to listen to each other and to talk specifically about what is currently at stake in our private and work context in the city and the country we live in, as well as in the world. We aim to speculate about the future what we think could or should change. We will think in a utopic way and discuss impossible ideas.

The podcasts are created in the part of Grand re Union project (Art Stations Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk, Poland – CounterPulse, USA, June 2021)

Premiere of „DANSE MACABRE” in Teatr Kochanowskiego in Opole

In her newest piece DANSE MACABRE, Renata Piotrowska-Auffret with an amazing team researches social and physical aspects of danse macabre, focusing on somatic and community-based aspects of constant, uninterrupted dance — the one, that soothes anxiety, gives opportunity to (re)discover joy, distance and united power of group of people.
It’s a piece that goes further than a performance, becoming a part of pandemic experience, by creating time and space for physical, mental, social and political recovery in a new reality.
Feel welcome to visit Teatr Kochanowskiego in Opole for this common celebration of danse macabre
Premiere: 18th-19th-20th of June in Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Opole (Poland)

The premiere of „Waves” in Studio Hrdinů in Prague is planned in December

Long-term collaboration with the artistic director of Studio Hrdinů Jan Horák will now have another result – Renata Piotrowska-Auffret has been invited to Prague as a director of the new piece „Waves” (working title) which will have its premier in December this year. It’s amazing to work with such an incredible artistic team and in this beautiful venue in Holešovice, one of the most fascinating district of Prague. We can’t wait to meet the audience, hopefully still this year.

Bazaar festival: a review of „The pure gold” by Hana Strejčková in Taneční aktuality

The review by Hana Strejčková was published in Taneční aktuality after ONLINE Baazar Festival in October 2020.
First, the festival audience had the opportunity to watch the video recording of the performance „The pure gold is seeping out of me” online and then we discussed with the choreographer Renata Piotrowska-Auffret the theme of Mothers/Artists/Superwomen. Thank you Bazaar Festival’s Team for amazing organization of this online edition!

Přehlídka experimentální multižánrové tvorby Bazaar Festival se v letošním roce konala pošesté, a to jinak než doposud. Festivalová dramaturgie se věnovala superhrdinkám a poetika se proměňovala s nároky digitální platformy. Autorka taneční inscenace Pure Gold is Seeping Out of Me Renata Piotrowska-Auffret naštěstí nerezignovala na zpřístupnění záznamu představení a bylo možné jej zhlédnout nepřerušovaně a bez průběžných verbálních dovysvětlení. Navazující živá diskuse pod vedením Alice Koubové s umělkyněmi a dalším hostem Kateřinou Olivovou pak rozvíjela ústřední téma projektu vztah mateřství a práce – aktivní umělecká činnost. Vše se navíc odehrálo v kontextu aktuálních masivních demonstrací v Polsku za práva žen svobodně se rozhodnout o svém těle.

Thank you Bazaar Festival for great opportunity to perform – online – and we hope to meet some time soon, live. In a meantime – we perform FEMALE POWER!
